Gardening Books
I've been reading gardening books this month. Fun stuff like weed and insect identifier books. lol But my two favorite books this month have been:

Gardening Without Work by Ruth Stout

Weedless Gardening
by Lee Reich
I have adopted some of each book. :) And I really like it so far! The gardens look so much better with the hay on the ground. I'm not having to work for hours every day trying to keep the weeds down. It's helping to retain moisture in the ground. I'm loving everything about it! But D is not so sure. He doesn't agree with the thought that you don't have to till the soil. Guess time will tell if we continue to use these methods.

T didn't understand that you gotta do a lot of tilling for all the vines we planted. We don't really have any rows, kwim? Tomatoes, peppers, squash, cchini and watermelons. We don't need no tillin', baby!
But he had to till one last time. I guess that was okay. It was after some rain had made the ground really hard!
We used hay around the tomato plants, and PTL b/c tomatoes are laying all over the ground! Guh!
Our biggest "good thing" was to just 'treat' our soil ie: we put several truckloads of manure on it a couple years ago. Heh.
Yeah. All that cow poop? It's "soil treatment".
There ya go. :)
that would be "T didn't understand that you DON'T gotta..."
Sheesh!
